On Menopause at Work
Workplaces often judge us by our productivity—how much we get done, how quickly, and how well. But as human beings, countless factors influence how we show up each day. Our bodies directly affect our physical and mental wellbeing, and many aspects of menopause lie beyond our conscious control. Supporting menopause at work means recognising this reality. It’s not just about supporting those going through it—it’s about creating a more inclusive workplace that acknowledges the ways our humanity and productivity intersect.
Her Story
I didn’t know much about menopause until I had children—which might seem counterintuitive. But becoming a mother pulled back the curtain on so many unknowns about women’s health and our bodies. It felt like once that conversation started, a torrent of other truths followed. I found myself surrounded by women openly sharing their own experiences—including those going through menopause. I’ve come to really value how middle age invites a kind of honesty and vulnerability among women. It gives me hope for the sisterhood and allyship that can support all of us in life stages still to come.
