Dr. Geoffrey Lau, Chief medical Director at Bupa Hong Kong
Dr. Geoffrey Lau is the Chief Medical Director of Bupa (Hong Kong) Insurance, a role he has held since
2022. In addition to his clinical practice as a family doctor in primary care, Dr. Lau is responsible for
overseeing medical review and quality assurance, clinical governance, health concierge service.
He
also plays a key role in supporting business strategies, insurance underwriting and claims, provider
contracting, health analytics and digital transformation initiatives.

Dr Lau began his medical career in family medicine within the public sector and later qualified as a Family Medicine Specialist. In 2013, he joined the Hospital Authority Head Office as an administrative manager, focusing on quality and safety domains including incident management, clinical standards, risk management, and executive support for public healthcare administration. He was subsequently seconded to the Surveillance and Epidemiology Branch of the Centre for Health Protection under the Department of Health, where he further developed as a public health practitioner with a focus on epidemiology, infectious disease surveillance, outbreak prevention and control.
