On Menopause at Work

Menopause isn’t just a personal experience — it’s a workplace issue too. Common symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, and anxiety can directly affect performance, confidence, and engagement. The good news is that small, thoughtful adjustments can make a real difference. Supporting menopause at work isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s smart business. When people feel seen and supported, they’re more likely to stay, contribute, and thrive.

On Her Story

Perimenopause caught me off guard at 42. I didn’t realise what was happening until the hot flushes started — but looking back, the signs had been there for months: severe anxiety, sleepless nights, and overwhelming fatigue. It led to stress and burnout, and I came close to pulling out of a promotion process I had worked so hard for — and truly earned.

I wish I’d known more about the symptoms and how to support and advocate for myself earlier. I’m grateful I know now, and I’m passionate about helping others recognise the signs, feel empowered to seek support, and avoid reaching the point I did — in tears every day, burnt out and just surviving. We can and should do better, and that starts with normalising the conversation and creating a supportive and inclusive culture.
